header('Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *') not working

Hey guys,
I am trying to get response from server using ajax request but it's getting error :"No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'null' is therefore not allowed access."

I have already set header Access control allow origin but still it's getting error,
can anyone give me a solution to solve this problem.

    this is a free domain.hotlink and other bot ability is disabled
