Issue connecting FTP in publishing settings of Microsoft Web Expression 4

I am having issues with the connection of the FTP. I made sure all the information typed in publishing setting was correct twice, and then click on "Connect to the current publishing destination" in MS Web Expression, and then get the following message "Can't connect to 'ftp.unaux.com'. Check the server name and proxy setting. If the settings are correct, the server may be temporarily unavailable."

Please help as my web development class is reliant upon this crucial first step!

    Please make sure that you have accessed cpanel at-least once before trying to connect via FTP
